I think it was around this point that Orneryboy and Dirtygirl really began to take on a life of their own. They began as simple caricatures of myself and Jen, but once I let them speak and act for themselves, their exaggerated personalities started to peek through, as well as their dysfunctional-but-loving dynamic. I was still just making it all up as I went along, but now I was really beginning to listen to the characters. Does that make me sound crazy?
