The title of this strip, as well as the burnt toast gag in the last panel, are probably totally obscure to anyone except Canadians. Quite possibly obscure to many Canadians too. It’s one of those jokes where if you have to explain it, it’s probably not very funny. Nevertheless... There’s a series of short films called Heritage Minutes, which used to air on Canadian TV all the time, about important events or accomplishments in Canada’s history. Maybe they still air on TV, I don’t know. Anyway, they’re all online now. I was referencing this particular one. Get it now? GET IT!? *crickets*
